Hello, I’m Rodney
Solution-Focused Coaching with Rodney Peacock, ICF ACC
You may have arrived with something on your mind: a decision you keep turning over, a role that is asking more of you than you expected, or a venture that needs to become real. Thinking clearly about what matters is difficult to do alone, and it is rare to be given proper time and attention for it. That is what I offer: a confidential space to think it through, with someone who works hard on your behalf to help you reach a next step you can trust.
What To Expect
You set the agenda, and I do the work of making it easier to think about. I listen for what matters beneath what you say, ask questions you may not yet have asked yourself, and offer the connections I notice so you can test them against your own judgement. You leave each conversation clearer, with a next step that is yours and that you believe in. Often there comes a moment when the climb in front of you stops looking impossible and starts looking like something you really can do. Those moments are what thrill me as your coach.
My approach is Solution-Focused. What you are facing matters, and we take it seriously. But instead of circling how you came to be here, in the hope that the answer is hiding inside the problem, we turn, deliberately and systematically, towards what you would like instead: what a better pathway might look like, what your preferred future holds. Almost invariably, that lets us notice resources and ideas the problem had been hiding from view. Our minds are curious things. Give yours a clear aim and it actually reorganises the world around you, and opportunities you had not been seeing start to appear.
And if you would like help following through, I can add practical, research-backed tools (goals that matter to you, habits that stick, and a plan for the obstacles before they arrive) and, where it helps, enterprise-grade expertise in bringing change to life, sized to fit your world. You choose the mix.
For Professionals
You are capable and people rely on you, and something is unsettled. Together we can:
Step into leadership. Work out the kind of leader you want to be, and how to bring your existing strengths into the role.
Settle a decision. Get the real options on the table, clarify what matters most, and choose without second-guessing.
Navigate a difficult situation. See the people and pressures more clearly, and decide how you want to respond.
For Founders
You have the vision, and probably too much of it lives in your head and is scattered among to-do lists, notebooks and whiteboards. I know the founder's road from the inside. Before my corporate career I helped family set up and operate a small business, so I have seen the early, hands-on days up close, and I am now building my own. Whether you are about to launch, finding your feet after early traction, or realising the business now depends on you doing everything, we can:
Turn the idea into a plan. Clear priorities, workstreams and first milestones, linked to the outcomes you care about.
Decide what to say yes and no to. Focus your energy where it counts while momentum is building.
Move from doing to leading. Work out what to hand over, to whom, and how to let go well.
If you would like it, I can also help you turn your thinking into visible work, a plan you can see and steer using best-in-class tools, drawing on a long career delivering substantial programs.

What I Bring
My path into coaching began in the early 2000s with the GROW model (Goal, Reality, Options, Will), the framework many people will remember from that era, and I have been in and around coaching ever since: more than twenty years of practising, learning and refining. Through nearly 30 years inside one of Australia's largest telcos, I mentored and supported many leaders stepping into agile and new ways of working, helped bring coaching and skilled feedback to around 15,000 people, and led programs from idea to delivery.
For you, that means two things: I understand how organisations really behave, so I can help you read your own workplace with realism; and I have sat alongside a great many people through change and uncertainty, so I am steady when yours feels unclear.
I have never stopped learning. GROW gave me a dependable structure for a conversation; formal training and credentials through the International Coaching Federation and Solutions Academy, and a steady exposure to new models and philosophies, have taught me when to loosen it and trust where you want to get to. I bring these into our conversations only where they serve you.
There are usually about ten books on the go beside me and a podcast in my ears, and they all circle one question: what does it take for people to change, and to keep growing? I have read the peer-reviewed research on mental contrasting, and on pairing it with implementation intentions, now popularised as WOOP (Gabriele Oettingen's Rethinking Positive Thinking is the place to start), so that you don't have to. I have worked through the habit research made familiar by James Clear, and the long literature on self-mastery. I also go looking in unexpected places: at the latest AVOLA conference in Switzerland I sat among health practitioners, all wrestling with how to help patients do what is good for them. Why would a coach be there? Because it is the question most of us face. You can see part of the path ahead, and you know some of what you should be doing. Stepping into it is the hard part.
That is what I help with, in two halves. First, working out what you want to be doing differently: the dreaming, the design, the picture of where you are headed. Then the follow-through: accountability, habits, and new ways of doing things that last.
